Starting and Staying on Track: Youth Motivations in Participating in Recreation
The Ontario Association of Youth Employment Centres researched what kept youth participating in recreational opportunities. First Work, formerly known as OAYEC, found that youth say that their top reasons for joining recreation programs is to have fun and learn new things. They also tell us that employability skills learning and the prospect of getting a job through recreation is part of their decision.
